| Complete with traditional wrought-iron balconies, this modern Antebellum-style hotel sits near the street artists and shops of Jackson Square, the illustrious trolleys, pro-sports facilities and the convention center. Guests can wake up every morning to aroma of chicory coffee brewing in the lobby and and so savor complimentary muffins and Gallic pastries in the tranquil courtyard. The hotel besides offers room service from area restaurants during certain hours, dial-up Internet access and transportation to and from Louis Armstrong International Airport 25 minutes forth. The Hotel Royal doesn't have got a restaurant, but the Gallic Quarter is packed with dining options synonymous with the Big Easy. This New Orleans hotel in the Gallic Quarter features 37 air-conditioned guestrooms and nine suites with private baths, jetted tubs, exposed brick walls or hardwood floors, Italian Frette linens, cable/satellite TV, ceiling fans, coffeemakers and data ports. Brimming with Old World charm and panache, New Orleans is filled with buildings with character and stories. Until the 1940s, the Hotel Royal's building remained a private home until portions were transformed into a Laundromat. By the 1960s, monolithic infusions of capital turned the building into a hotel, and a make over in 2001 by notable architect and interior designer Lee Ledbetter ushered the Gallic Quarter hotel into the modern age with other space and original artwork by local artist Edward Whiteman. Hotel Advisory:Recovery efforts are still under way in the New Orleans area in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Some attractions, as good as hotel facilities and amenities, may be limited.
