| Guests staying here are merely a block from the fortune tellers and street performers of Jackson Square, three blocks from the cafe au lait and beignets of Café Du Monde, and four blocks from the riverfront gambling, dining and entertainment of the mighty Mississippi River. Built in 1817 and renovated in 2004, this hotel exudes classic New Orleans style, with a trompe l'oeil lobby, columns fastidiously hand-painted to mime marble, walls a mix of false stucco and brick, and ceilings resembling a Renaissance bluish sky with darting angels. Guests can acquire off from the vexing crowds in a secluded courtyard pool surrounded by tables and potted palms and savor a full New Orleans-style breakfast buffet in the hotel's Café Rue Orleans. This being New Orleans, of course, guests will bump plenty of dining options in the Gallic Quarter and surrounding area. They as well can utilise a fitness center six blocks off at the Wyndham New Orleans. The Bourbon Orleans' 216 guestrooms are decorated in Victorian Queen Anne style with two-poster beds with pillow-top mattresses, and modern touches like high-speed Internet access, cordless phones, ergonomic chairs, fancy Bath & Body Works products, and coffee makers with complimentary coffee. Given its location to everything New Orleans and amenities, the Bourbon Orleans caters largely to vacationers who enjoy the activity desk, concierge and other services, but the hotel rates as a favourite among business-types and conventioneers. Hotel Advisory:Recovery efforts are still under way in the New Orleans area in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Some attractions, as good as hotel facilities and amenities may be limited. Bourbon Orleans at present has all services restored with the exception of the following: -Restaurant and Bar will be closed Thanksgiving Day. -Housecleaning and linen replenishment upon arrival and three times per week after arrival. -Paillard's Restaurant hours of operation are breakfast (M-F 6:30am-9:30am and Sat & Sun 7am-10am), Dinner Sat & Sun (6pm-9pm). -The Coffee Bar is presently closed and room service will be available at a future date. -Wyndham ByRequest current benefits include: complimentary high speed Internet, locals calls, domestic long distance calls, and 500 airline miles or American Express Rewards per stay.
